Two Cities,
One Vision
JAQUES 04 was founded on a simple provocation: what happens when you bring together the minimalist precision of Nordic design with the raw, experimental energy of the Australian creative scene?
The answer is a label that refuses to compromise. Our artisanal ateliers in Helsinki and Melbourne operate as two halves of a single creative engine — connected by a shared commitment to structural honesty, material integrity, and the belief that clothing should be built to outlast the culture that produced it.
Helsinki
Our Helsinki studio handles research, material sourcing, and technical development. Situated in the Kallio district, the atelier draws on Finland's deep tradition of functional design — where beauty is a consequence of rigour, not decoration. Here, our textile specialists work directly with Scandinavian and Japanese mills to develop exclusive fabrics engineered for longevity.

Melbourne
The Melbourne atelier is where garments come to life. Occupying a converted warehouse in Collingwood, our pattern makers and tailors work in an environment that mirrors the raw aesthetic of the clothes they produce — exposed brick, concrete floors, natural light. This is where prototyping, construction, garment dyeing, and final quality inspection take place.

Values
Structural Honesty
We never hide how a garment is made. Exposed seams, raw edges, and visible construction details are signatures of our commitment to transparency — in process and in product.
Material Integrity
Every fibre is chosen for purpose, not marketing. We source exclusively from certified mills and prioritise organic, recycled, and deadstock materials. Quality is non-negotiable.
Considered Permanence
We design for decades, not seasons. Our garments are built to age with grace — softening, developing patina, and becoming more individual with every wear. Fast fashion is not in our vocabulary.
Bringing the best of style and design from opposite ends of the earth.
